kankan: soap in a can

Every now and again a genuinely revolutionary idea comes along.

An example: Kankan – refillable glass bottles + soap in a fully recyclable can. Bathroom waste is one of the biggest polluters on the planet, with most of the plastic bottles ending up in landfill or the ocean. The solution – cans, not plastic – is so obvious. And thanks to Mary & Eliza, founders of Kankan, they are now a reality.

Not only does the Kankan product tick the sustainability box, but it hits all the right notes on design, smell and usability too. The product arrives in fully recyclable packaging (which you can post back to be re-used), a tree is planted with each order, it’s animal cruelty free + the customer service is personal & professional.

Why am I telling you all this? Because it’s a brilliant idea, a wonderful product and it deserves all the success.

Currently they have bath/ shower, hand and baby soaps but have big expansion plans. Their ambition is to make refills mainstream and, for the sake of the planet, I am really hoping they succeed on their mission.

I was hooked from my first order, so I can personally recommend it. Give them a go – you won’t be disappointed.
