One of the many, many things I love about living in London is the depth of talent in every square mile. And often hidden from view unless you probe a bit.
Sabrina – the gorgeous Penelope Cruz-alike below – is the perfect case in point. She is a barista in my (very brilliant) local coffee shop: The Grand Howl. It was only after getting to know her that she mentioned she was moonlighting as a fashion illustrator. When she showed me her work, I was blown away. So sexy, so talented, so perfectly French.
In her own words she is, ‘a London-based and self-taught artist originally from Paris. I first moved to London to study art and then began a relationship with fashion illustration.
I love drawing and capturing the art of femininity, inspired by a variety of sources and expressed with a dreamy innocence and minimalistic silhouettes. I love to create and experience new ideas to describe simplicity and sensuality in women.’
She is seriously talented and very much at the start of her journey. If you are, or you know anybody who is, in need of a fashion illustrator then Sabrina should be your first port of call.
Moral of the story: get to know your Barista.
